"Nobody wants to destroy Russia!" That's a very February 23 2022 statement. Russia's actions since then have basically shown the world that it's a ticking timebomb.
1
@a5cent it's like North Korea. No one wants to go to war to get rid of it, but if it could sink beneath the waves, that would just be wonderful.
1
The Ukrainian invasion is like Valhalla. Where everyone who dies in battle comes back to life the next day to restart the fight. So as long as they don't claim they've destroyed five HIMARS in a single day.... It might not be a lie
1
Another person who shouldn't get a job as a fortune teller
1
People like round numbers.
1
Mail order widows?
1
It's insane to punish deserters. They're clearly the most intelligent, motivated soldiers Russia has. They should be promoted instead.
1
Apparently people being willing to accept their energy in exchange for deep discounts is a sign that that country is a solid friend and ally. Because friends take advantage of friends when they're down. People who simply want a bargain don't exist.
1
@HEMI345S to put it simply, Putin is a liar who will ignore any treaty he signs the moment it's convenient. What's the point in negotiating with someone like that?
1
The Russian army really is a barbarian horde.
1
And in a few cases, well.... You're giving disgruntled people with nothing to lose guns. And guess who's the most convenient target.
1
@mal2ksc Heavy is good. Heavy is reliable. If it doesn't work, you can always hit them with it
1
I'm tempted to eat one of my Guinea pigs. But that's because she's an extremely fat food animal that can't be toilet trained. It feels like a win win. But that's not what they're going for.
1
It looks at least as real as Russia's reported losses and successes.
1
Then at least they had people who were willing to breed.
1
Two things are it needs unanimous acceptance and doesn't touch countries with existing border disputes. In 2008 they started to apply, but their president (the one who was ousted after he campaigned on a pro joining EU platform then did a sudden about face and went for Russia instead)
1
Either way, not bad for something that'll be over in a couple of weeks
1
@mariahewitt9787 I meant over in a couple of weeks from the end of February However, Putin can't do that. He can go back to not being alive. That's about it.
1
It'th thpecial!
1
With the benefit of the last few months, we can see that Russia's mobilisation is a farce
1
If he's got better intelligent sources than Putin, well...... That would just be hilarious (although not as far fetched as it seemed before I started typing this)
1
Anyone who has any security concerns whatsoever should stay away from anything from the PRC that has a network connection.
1
And it's a common enough scenario it's going to resonate with a significant number of Russians
1
@Aeronaut1975 he had a truck AND a bomb. That's two.
1
Joke's on Zelensky. North Korean soldiers don't have meat!
1
@gordonpkm7560 it feels fair to say that anything that does anything to do with any sort of food doesn't apply.
1
There's plenty of examples to go off with the CCP whining about the unfairness of UNCLOS (which it voluntarily signed up to) or the WTO rules (which it put a huge amount of effort into joining)
1
Or there's multiple idiots. And Russia can tear itself apart.
1
@ChuckAmadi Fancy seeing you here
1
Putin is a gentleman. I'm sure that a handshake and a promise on his honour will be enough. I'm also sure that in February, what happened was only military exercises and that Kherson will, in fact, remain Russian forever. Now I'm off to get this serious concussion treated. My ears are bleeding.
1
As good as the Polish army is, there are certain, specific times they're basically storm troopers. Incapable of hitting a single thing they're aiming at. Unfortunately the collateral damage would be exclusively Russian.
1
Because the country that has spent centuries invading its neighbours, including as Hitler's ally, has a right to be able to invade those neighbours on a whim?
1
It depends on the mood of nearby Australians.
1
I'm certain the govt of Syria has nothing but love for Russia after Putin helped Assad stay in power another decade.
1
It's better than lead. That's the bar here.
1
Or to put it another way: As the war proceeds, Ukraine is running out of options. Soon they'll have no choice but to act in one way.
1
I'm Australian, but I've spent my share of time in North east China. When it's normal to get to -30 and you get a day that's -10 it does feel like a warm day
1
That's exactly why they shouldn't be banned. They're so incredibly bad at their jobs they're hurting themselves. It's like if the CCP ever stopped funding the fifty cent army, I'm convinced the CIA should offer to pick up the tab on the condition that they keep doing exactly what they're doing now. When it comes to propaganda, give me a choice between a genius on my side and a drooling moron on the other side, I'll take the drooling moron.
1
@RonSommar it's an easy thing to do and he can totally see why it's done. That's why he's so eager to have talks to get it all cleared up, with suitable compensation for stopping his apology incursion.
1
What has Roman ever done for us? A question that traditionally gets a long answer. Ending in brought peace.
1
If a Briton gives food to a dog, it's quality food. The trash is reserved for cats and people.
1
You don't even need the math. A border of a country they're at war with was basically undefended. If they've got such a surplus of men and machines.... How? How is it still? Is even more damning.
1
I gather there's about 50k stockpiled. So that's 1.5 years on your math, plus whatever is made from production ramping up as we find out how useful those things actually are. Edit: It wouldn't be needed for that long, though, basically because there's only a finite number of useful targets.
1
How is this even a country?
1
They're in controlled grounds, so they'd get the leavings of other looters.
1
After it turns into a drinking game? Whatever happened to drunk history?
1
It's the same with the 50 cent army. If the CCP decided to stop funding them, having the CIA step in on the condition that they kept operating exactly as they were would be a good deal.
1
@melindacadarette3447 And I'm in Australia, where we have two seasons I called "Summer" and "Less Summer" (You could call the other two decreasing and increasing summer) TL;DR - It's better to be a literal bot than a person that incapable of thought.
1
Something something America something something? That's the default, anyway
1
That doesn't work in a dictatorship. (or at least shouldn't) Everyone who has power has power because Putin wanted him to have power. The buck stops with the dwarf.
