Whether something is solid, liquid or gas does not affect how gravity acts upon it; the difference between the three arises from the chemical interaction between the individual molecules. Gravity is not an irresistible force, simply a constant force on & close too the Earth's surface. Other forces can act simultaneously; in this case you're referring to pressure arising from gas trying to disperse. The pressure & gravity balance out, the result being a pressure gradient from 1 atm at Earth's surface to a vacuum in space, i.e., pressure declines with increasing altitude.

  3.  @jessnardone7  Like most FE’ers he can’t counter the science through coherent arguments and just declares everything he doesn’t want to hear as not being real science. His idea of determining the distance to the sun is to eyeball it and go with the number that pops into his head; actually taking measurements and calculating distances is scientism to him.

  29. The shuttles are retired from service and were not designed to leave orbit, much less travel to the moon. SpaceX attaches cameras to their launches, tracking progress all the way into orbit and it doesn't satisfy some people. Boundaries where? You aren't forbidden from visiting Antarctica if that is what you are referring to.

  47. The purpose of the UN logo is to show the member countries, not the Earth. When it is going on flags & letterheads said logo needs to be 2D. The Michelson-Morley experiment used the known motion of the Earth through space to look for evidence of the entirely hypothetical luminiferous aether; they failed to find any evidence of it. Difficult as it is for some people to understand but when you do not find any evidence of something's existence you have NOT proved its existence.
