@KangenAlec Which still doesn’t answer the question.
2
@Globeisahoax You still haven’t explained why the southern hemisphere has longer days in summertime rather than the shorter ones that you predict. You’ve had a year!
2
@Globeisahoax You still haven’t explained how the sun maintains a constant angular diameter while shrinking away. Get your finger out and tell us.
2
@Globeisahoax You still deny trigonometry then.
2
You can put a stick in the ground and track the motion of the sun throughout the day and the angle to the sun at noon. You can (street lighting permitting) stand outside and watch the stars rotate and the visible constellations change throughout the year. With some travel you can compare observations and determine a shape.
2
@fullchurchahead6849 Again, two different things. Very few people with knowledge of evolution argue that it is wrong. In dealing with a huge amount of evidence in any science there will be disagreement over the interpretation of individual items. Haggling over individual items should not be confused with arguing about a theory's veracity.
2
@fullchurchahead6849 No, it’s not a big deal; that is how science works. Every little fact is quibbled over trying to determine exactly as possible how it fits in, eg, dating exactly as possible. That there is a progression of species through time is not doubted.
2
@fullchurchahead6849 "require you to go in the past to test your hypothesis" Paleontology and genetics. "Some scientists say we all have a common ancestor" You're confusing two things. Mitochondrial genetics indicates a limited number of common ancestors. They were not the sole humans (or human predecessors) in their time, just that their progeny have become by far the most numerous. Biblical analogy would be Jacob being the super-great-grandfather of every Israelite. "baraminology" Is creationism, not science. "I don't think it's helpful for you to act like branch evolution is a fact" Genetics. It's possible to look at similarities & differences in gene sequences between species and see where and to some extent when branching has occurred. "two scientists can look at the same data dealing with this topic" As I have already said twice, there is haggling in any particular point as to how it all fits together. That does not invalidate the broad conclusions, much as you would like it to. "it cannot be observed or duplicated in a scientific method fashion." As I have already said, some branches of science are reliant on observation rather than direct experimentation. In this case it means multiple branches of science determining timing & changes retrospectively. Claiming it has to be done through experimentation is simply a cop out.
2
@fullchurchahead6849 People like Marcus Ross make selective observations & interpretations to fit their religious beliefs; they don't make objective analyses. Their approach is not a valid one for determining what is true. I'm getting tired of saying this: you are conflating minor discussion of individual data with scientific consensus. That evolution exists is well accepted. Discussion of individual pieces of data doe snot alter that consensus. Reread what I wrote about insulin & photoreceptors and think.
2
@fullchurchahead6849 When you a 10,000 piece jigsaw sufficiently assembled to be able to distinguish a picture then: A. Where the next piece slots does not alter the picture. B. Not liking the picture does not alter the picture. C. Waving a Bible at it does not alter the picture. Folks like Ross have a predetermined conclusion and are simply demanding that everything be interpreted or ignored to fit the desired picture. It is not the objective analysis that science requires; they are not being scientists when they demand that objective analysis be ignored in favour of religion doctrine. Their approach is not valid; kindly stop waving it around as if it was.
2
@KangenAlec What magnification do you think that would require?
2
@KangenAlec Why does the sun behave completely differently to what you say it does if your idea is based on observation?
2
@Globeisahoax By a traceable signal in orbit and the ISS visibly passing overhead. Try explaining why the OP can’t see the distance predicted by the FE.
2
@KangenAlec You have no clue what magnification gaff would require, do you?
2
Yet they can never produce this evidence....
2
@michaelcraven2554 FE’ers either decline to provide the evidence they claim is the slam-dunk evidence that the world us flat or rely on either selective interpretation of a few facts or simply fail to understand such complexities as more than variable.
2
@KangenAlec Hiw does the sun maintain a constant angular diameter and angular velocity through the course of the day? How does it remain close to you while supposedly moving in a circle thousands of miles in diameter?
2
Unfortunately the shape of Earth is not an opinion, an idea or an issue but a simply a fact, one that we deduced 2500 years ago. FE’ers produce only ignorance & incredulity, not any kind of valid argument for it to be a different shape that would fit the existent data. The shape if the Earth is not a subject for this series.
2
FE'er are regarded as the epitome of willfully ignorant; that the Earth was a globe was settled over 2000 years ago but they steadfastly ignore all the evidence placed before them, even when shown how they can verify the shape for themselves and insist their "model" (all of them) works despite the obvious holes. I'm more interested in persuading people not to jump down the rabbit hole.
2
If they were prepared to do that they could triangulate a distance to their FE sun but that’s too difficult for them.
2
And apparently an impenetrable dome beyond the icewall. The people who refuse to believe anything they haven’t personally seen have never seen either but are quite adamant they exist.
2
@knorkenagi Not that I’m aware of. Jubilee wanted a “balanced” debate and so cut out the one way flow of evidence when trimming to the desired time.
2
@KangenAlec How does the FE sun stay up, what makes it move, what makes it change course, what make it emit heat & light? Provide evidence of your ice-barriers.
2
You realise that spheres have a circular cross-section from all angles?
2
@KangenAlec You do demonstrate that daily.
2
@Globeishoax Says the guy who can’t answer any questions…
2
"How is this possible?!!!" is demonstrating ignorance & incredulity, not insight.
2
@KangenAlec was the Apollo-Soyuz linkup genuine?
2
@KangenAlec I’ve been asking you what magnification you think that would require. What’s the problem for the “man with the answers”?
2
@silversurfer4241 We’ve all seen it. Still waiting on the Thinkers to explain why it wasn’t smashed to smithereens by the impact. Do you want to try?
2
Let me guess - a laser just above the frozen surface?
2
@boterlettersukkel What impresses me is seeing along the full length of a crescent shaped lake.
2
@KangenAlec Why is it invisible except when it causes lunar eclipses?
2
To be precise he gave an interview two weeks after he died. Folks who believe the Apollo missions are faked have no trouble believing the interview to be genuine.
2
Because her misconception woukd have been shown to be a misconception.
2
@Globeisahoaxx Why do so many of you claim to have the answer to your question despite nobody having been to look?
2
@Globeishoaxx Yet again doofus, there is no top & bottom to a sphere.
2
@KangenAlec You can’t handle the concept of a million so I doubt a billion will be within your comprehension.
2
@Globeisahoax Proof that any sane person would accept? Yes.
2
@Globehoax This would be the They that you think are responsible for disinformation?
2
@Globeisahoaxx Still waiting on your evidence…
2
@Globeisahoax Still waiting on your evidence…
2
@Globeisahoax You would be far more convincing if you could explain how your fantasy FE is compatible with observable reality. Why not try doing it?
2
Either failed to pay attention or even the simplest concepts go over their heads.
2
Copernicus first suggested that a heliocentric system would be simpler than the accepted geocentric, requiring fewer pericycle corrections. (He assumed orbits would be circular rather than elliptical, something later corrected by Kepler.) About 70 years (?) on, Galileo used the newly invented telescope to look at planets and observed they had moons; not everything orbited around Earth. In the intervening period the Church had become stricter about heresy and saw anything that undermined their authority as "heretical", which included them not being at the centre of the universe. Galileo essentially spent the rest of his life under house arrest (still looking through telescopes) rather than jail.
2
@KangenAlec You’ve never explained why smashing into the dome didn’t cause the camera to even tremble. How difficult is it for you to produce the answers you claim to know?
2
@Globeishoaxx The ones anybody cansee thriugh a telescope and you still haven’t said how you determined the sun to be small & local.
2
The original recording was 3.5hrs. Jubilee trimmed it to remove the one way flow of evidence from the scientists so the discussion would appear balanced. What do you think we do in labs?
2
@KangenAlec If you have no proof or explanation for how a FE would work then what makes you certain it is flat?
2
0.5 > 100?
