1,000 times More...Use to Be 500 cars are Englishtown on Open-track night. Maybe 25 on the road-course...Also these are still POny car/muscle cars (FIRST). Not many Road courses and they Definitely aren't available as Much. Since Englishtown closed down... Highway Roll Racing is the BIG THING.

Brad, can't have a manual Redeye because the Tremec is rated ( WARRANTIED ) for up to 650 lb-ft. It all Comes down to , Who's paying for the Repairs. Actually, Motor Trend did faster laps in the auto ZL1 than with the Manual, just reliability for Serious / Long Races will always go to the manual. Probably why Chevy used the Auto ZL1 for it's run at the Ring.

Here's the video it was a 2017 model ZL-1 and the driver let the auto do all the shifts...he didn't use the paddles - ( 7:29.60 ) isn't bad for no aero, on street tires with the auto doing all the shifting. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xBmLnLJLQ0o

In ZL-1 1LE Form the 10 spd doesn't help that much... The aero and Suspension stiffness will make it lose. On the track of course it kicks the All Season tire Fat Redeye. Have to pick your battles. Just Highway Racing and Top speed is NO PLACE for a ZL-1.

Drag race by definition, means 1/4 mile or 402m for the None informed people. Weight could be easily looked up...this channel has a Shoe string budget... I think they are still counting... 1 Mississippi, 2 Mississippi, 3 Mississppi times. Haven't gotten a spot watch...let alone show any Racelogic or compare-able data instrument.

@matrox Hot Rod did a Manual vs. auto using the SS model and the auto was 2/10th (.19s) quicker than the manual (with a good driver) and 2/10 is a BIG difference in drag racing... If you ever drag raced. In the ZL-1 the difference would be even greater.

Camaro SS 1LE. Runs the 1/4 faster than a Mustang GT w/ PP1 or 2, runs the 1/4 as quickly as a $75k GT350 and kills them both on a road course for less money.

Demon was strictly built for drag Racing...The Dodge Viper/ACR was the "Track Model". Even in this video Jason says the Redeye isn't a Track model...just a Sportier Hellcat .

SO TRUE, Also ANYTHING... WITHOUT a 3 PEDAL... IS AN AUTOMATIC (fact). Clostest to be a Manual was E46 M3's... as it was the same trans, and close bolt a shifter in it with so ECU modes.

Not this Generation... Unless you Only care about rear view/vision. It kills any of the other 2 in performance for the same price range. No Brand comes close to the ZL-1/ ZL-1 1LE in performance for anywhere near the same Price. Looks are Objectionable as Seen by MOST Muscle car fans thinking the R35 GTR is Fk'in Ugly.

Not really, they are great autobahn cruise, can actual seat more than 2 adults...unlike camaro or mustang. Aslo Has the best Ride of the Hi-Po models. Fyi, Redeye Pulls 0.95Gs , same as a Mustang Bullet, and only just behind a new ,siilar weight / Size... $125k M5. Doodge Never Marketed any Challenger as a Track Model Either. Dodge had the Viper for that , and it did That Better than Any Chevy Or Ford.

So I am Correct and NO Street camaro will ever get to 2.3Gs on Street tires in stock trim. No Street car...even with 1 ton of downforce, Street Legal tires in stock trim pulls over 1.5 G's in a TURN...(FACT). FYI, I Like the Zl-1 /ZL-1 1LE and the SS 1LE... Like I said I've owned Camaro's... But I don't make up stuff... diference between the gt500 and redeye is Less than the zl1 and gt500?? What drugs are you on? If the Gt500 Had A Supercharged Ohv 6.2 It would Be A Carbon Copy Of the ZL1. (just Fatter)The Redeye The Complete Opposite.

@rus19297 I believe everyone Deserves the Option, the Viper didn't sell well because it was Only Manual. Dodge Demons / Redeyes , Don't have a Manual Rated/Warranted for the Torque.

The camber must be because he street drives it... AKA save the wear on the tires. As for the rack of the car... Low in the front/high in the back... that is standard to control air turbulence underneath the car.

Same car just with a different front fascia. No matter what the mustang would still lose. It gained weight while the camaro lost 200 lbs. Not to mention the mustang is $3,000 More as tested.

The Manual did slow it down, But the ZL1 1LE has Street legal track tires that are ALOT stickier than the POS tires on the Challenger. Not to mention the Redeye is 700+/-lbs. Heavier. With the auto the Zl1 1LE would win the drag 1/4 mile from a stop but lose on the highway (from a roll and to high speeds 125+). The Redeye is better handling with the Wide Body option... but only an Idiot would call it a Track version. New Challengers excluding the Demon, have Always been GT (Grand tourer) cars made to carry up to 5 "Comfortably"... No matter what chevy/ford says they can't. Camasro ZL-1 automatic is currently the best balance of drag/track of the ponycars. The ZL-1 1LE is the current KING of Track models... Chevy is making even the Shelby GT350R look Pathetic.

They historically were in the middle with the Gt500 (good at both, best at NONE). It looks like they are going after the ZL-1 1LE with the Next GT500 (wings, DOT track tires, track suspension, etc).

Redeye Is Only available in an automatic as TREMEC Doesn't make a Manual that is rated(warrantied) for the Redeye's torque output.
